Will ICPSR do a disclosure review of my deposited files?
Yes. With the exception of openICPSR, once a deposit has been made, ICPSR staff complete a detailed disclosure risk review of the data. Data curators follow rigorous procedures to protect the confidentiality of study participants, checking especially for the presence of any direct and indirect identifiers. The ICPSR curation team can also employ procedures to help mitigate the disclosure risk of the data (e.g., re-coding variables, top-coding variables, or masking variables) in coordination with the depositor.
